December 8th, 2012 marks 32 years since John Lennon was shot to death in Manhattan. The former Beatle was returning home to the Dakota apartment building on the Upper West Side, when he was shot. John was 40 years old. Fans immediately swarmed the Dakota to mourn his death. Many still mark the day by visiting the building and Strawberry Fields in Central Park. His killer, Mark David Chapman, pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison and has been denied parole seven times, most recently in August this year.
