Proceeds from the annual sale and renewal of the Miami Dolphins license tag benefit the Miami Dolphins Foundation and the Florida Sports Foundation Major& Regional Grant Program. 10% from the sale of each tag is donated to the Miami Dolphins Foundation. Since the debut of the license tag, the program has generated more than $738,000 for the Foundation. The Community Relations Department of the Miami Dolphins genuinely cares about the community in which it is located. Through the organization's support of various charities, causes, and events throughout the area and around the country, "we hope to display our dedication to making our community a better place for everyone." The Dolphins realize the responsibility they have of showing sensitivity and kindness to those less fortunate. "That's why whether a group of our players are signing autographs for children, speaking at schools about the importance of education, or making a sick child in the hospital smile through a visit, the Dolphins always have their eye on the goal more important than the goal of any football game; making the difference in the lives of others." 80% of the proceeds generated from the sale of the Miami Dolphins license tag are designated for the Florida Sports Foundation Major & Regional Grant Programs. The grant programs provide support to Florida’s communities hosting sporting events that generate significant out-of-state impact in their area. Including in South Florida:Various AAU Championships; North American Roller Hockey Championships; Snowbird Baseball; USTA National Championships; NAIA Championships; Various YMCA Championships; 2010 NFL Pro Bowl. |
